Tchmil's final onslaught of the 2002 Spring Classics collapsed in agony during the 3-Days of DePanne, when a crash on the descent of The Kemmelberg broke fingers in his hand as well as a damaged thigh-bone...his planned retirement after the Amstel Gold was put on hold until a more suitable exit-point could be found.
