The escape that put Heppner into the race-lead on stage six. With about 60 kilometres into the stage a group of 12 riders had established a lead of over 6 minutes over the peloton. Leading the group here as they climb the Bric Berton, from left to right are Angel Vicioso, Jens Heppner, Yaroslav Popovych, Francisco Leon Mane, and Mariano Piccoli.
